Paul and Lynnie are delighted to have been awarded SILVER at the 2017 Best Bed & Breakfast South West region. This accolade is up from Bronze in 2016. The award is all the more special when taking into account the seven counties that enter the contest being Gloucester, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall including The Scilly Isles. Presenting the award was Victoria Graham, the news anchor from BBC Spotlight Television.
At this time of year, the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Awards programme is in full swing, rewarding those businesses that have achieved standards of excellence, and it is judged by panels drawn from within the industry.
We are thrilled to announce that for the second year running, Higher Gitcombe won the Silver Award for Visit Devon’s Best B&B in the whole county. We were also awarded a Gold Award in the South Devon and English Riviera Tourism and Hospitality Awards for Best Bed and Breakfast in South Devon and the English Riviera.
We have now heard that we are finalists for the SW region as a whole and in addition, the awards panel has selected us to represent the region in the Bed & Breakfast of the Year contest for the national Visit England awards to be held in April. (We are absolutely delighted at this news!).
We are determined to maintain these standards into 2018 and beyond and we truly hope we may be seeing you for a stay then.
For the best availability, price and access to our special offers, please always book direct. Preferably by phone or emailing first.
The well known on line booking agencies never have access to our full calendar plus there are minimum stay restrictions in place.
By contacting us direct, you will receive the best rates, upgrades and availability which are not possible when using a booking.company.
In addition, when booking with an on line agency, you will be required to pay in full at the time of booking with no flexibility to cancel or change your stay.
When booking direct with us, we only require a 50% deposit which you will never lose. If you need to change dates, that’s fine and even if you have to cancel, we will carry the deposit forward to a future booking, even if that goes into the next year.
Plans are now well under way for The Coach House, our proposed Self-Catering unit, set at the rear of the main house. The first stage of the planning process was passed by the parish council and we still hope to start work in January. The emphasis will be on pure luxury and it will be available for 3, 4 or 7 night stays.
We would like to wish all past and future guests the very best of health and happiness this Christmas and in 2018.
Merry Christmas from Paul & Lynnie Jolly
